NHP supports ultra-fast public EV charging rollout by EnergyAustralia

May 21, 2026 | 2 min read

NHP Electrical Engineering (NHP) is supporting the rollout of ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure by EnergyAustralia at 7-Eleven stores under a new partnership between EnergyAustralia and 7-Eleven.

NHP is supplying Delta DC fast charging hardware for three sites that are part of this project, backed by local technical support and warranty services.

EnergyAustralia will deliver 10 charging stations at select 7-Eleven sites across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland over the next two years, helping make public EV charging more convenient in everyday locations.

The first EnergyAustralia charging station, at 250 Bridgewater Road, Roxburgh Park, Victoria, is now operational.

Ultra-fast EV charging for everyday stops

The three sites supported by NHP will feature a 200kW ultra-fast charger, allowing EV drivers to charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in as little as 12 to 15 minutes. Located at neighbourhood 7-Eleven stores, the sites are designed to let drivers top up while they grab a coffee, pick up a meal or run a quick errand.

Drivers will be able to access the chargers through the Chargefox app or by paying at the unit using tap-and-go credit card payment. Locations will also be listed on PlugShare so drivers can find sites, check availability and plan stops more easily.

NHP's role in the rollout

As the hardware partner for the project, NHP is helping deliver the charging infrastructure with local product expertise, technical support and warranty backing.

•    DC fast charging hardware: NHP is supplying Delta charging hardware for the rollout.

•    Local technical support: NHP's Australian-based team will support deployment and ongoing operation.

•    Warranty backing: The chargers are supported by local warranty services to help maintain uptime across the network.

Industry perspective

"Range anxiety and charging inconvenience remain real barriers to EV take-up in Australia," said Jack Kotlyar, Head of Green Transport at EnergyAustralia. "Putting fast, reliable charging stations at locations people already know and visit regularly means topping up can become as natural as stopping for fuel has always been."

"Every charging location has different operational requirements, so our role is to work closely with the customer to deliver a solution that fits the site," said an NHP spokesperson. "Beyond the charging hardware itself, we’re supporting the rollout with local technical expertise and warranty backing."

The rollout comes as EV adoption continues to grow in Australia. According to the Electric Vehicle Council, more than 157,000 electric vehicles were sold in 2025, up 38 per cent on the previous year.

Rollout timeline

Over the next 24 months, EnergyAustralia and 7-Eleven plan to deliver 10 ultra-fast EV charging sites: three in Victoria, four in New South Wales and three in Queensland. Installation across the Victorian sites is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
