NHP has had recent success with Spohn & Burkhardt’s top of the range fully motorised FSMMD chair for coal drag line operations in central Queensland. Ergonomically designed, the FSMMD has all the ‘bells and whistles’ you can imagine, such as full electrical movement for all chair and console inclinations and ten position memory recall (PLC based), so operators can punch in their code and recall their preset positions. The console is designed to target poor posture and maximise operator comfort.

Comfort is only part of the equation; when it comes to excavating coal the operator needs full control of the boom, usually via mechanically locked swing pedals. Working closely with Owen Custom Products in Brisbane, NHP can offer the “Owen slim line pedal” which has been designed around the Spohn & Burkhardt console. The low profile swing pedal system from Owen Custom Products is mounted on adjustable arms and has a three position tilt adjustment as well as ‘forwards’ and ‘backwards’ to allow for all leg lengths. With the pedal mounted on this console it gives full ‘in cabin’ serviceability. The FSMMD console also rotates 270 degrees in perfect harmony with the swing pedal.
