Privacy Policy

At NHP our customers, and their privacy, are important. Indeed we consider our customers, and our relationship with our customers, our most valuable asset. NHP commits to protecting our customers’ privacy and wholeheartedly support the “National Privacy Principles”.

 

1st Principle - Collection of Information

NHP collects information about you in a number of ways. These could include from publicly available sources, from information you yourself provide us over the phone or via application documents, related companies, credit-reporting agencies, your representatives and of course from orders for goods and/or services you have placed with us.

2nd Principle – Use and Disclosure

NHP may use the collected information about you to provide better service to you by better understanding your needs. To make you aware of new products that we believe may be of interest to you. To conduct appropriate checks for credit worthiness and to protect both you and us from fraud. NHP will only collect data that is relevant to NHP.

We may also disclose information about you to our business partners for the purpose of marketing, telemarketing, market research, your authorized representatives, our professional advisors (including lawyers, accountants, auditors). NHP will also disclose information about you where we are required to do so by law.

3rd Principle – Data Quality

NHP will take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information collected and that the collected data is and remains up-to-date.

4th Principle – Data Security

All reasonable steps will be taken to prevent unauthorised access, misuse, modification, or accidental loss of the collected information about you, our customers.

When it is determined by NHP that the information it holds about you is no longer required, NHP will either permanently destroy or alter the data to such an extent that it no longer identifies you.

5th Principle – Openness

When requested, NHP will take all reasonable steps to provide you with details about the type of information we hold about you and how we are using that information. Where possible NHP will also advise you how it collected the information it holds about you, in any case NHP generally collects information about you as described under the 1st principle.

6th Principle – Access and Correction

NHP, when requested to do so, will take reasonable steps provide details of the information it holds about you to you except to the extent that the request does not have to be honoured as per sub clause 6.1 or 6.2 of schedule 3 of the Privacy Act 1988 as amended.

If you advise us in writing that the information we hold is incorrect or not up to date, NHP will either correct the information it holds, or, if we disagree, note that you have advised us in writing that the information we hold is incorrect and/or not up to date.

If NHP denies you access to the information held about you or refuses to correct information you advised us is incorrect, NHP will provide reasons for that denial or refusal to correct.

7th Principle – Identifiers

NHP may identify you to its internal systems by assigning one or more identifiers to your details. NHP will not use a third party’s identifier or one that has been derived from any third party’s identifiers, in particular from identifiers used by government or other regulatory agencies. The Privacy act excludes the name, ABN and/or ACN as being an identifier for the purposes of the act.

8th Principle – Anonymity

Whenever it is lawful and practicable, individuals will have the option of not identifying themselves when dealing with NHP.

9th Principle – Transborder Data Flows

NHP will not transfer personal details of its customers to any party in a foreign country unless it is required to do so by law or can do so as per one of principle 9 sub-clauses (a) to (f). These reasons include, but are not limited to, the owner of the details consenting, the implementation of a contract between NHP and our customer or pre-contractual measures taken in response to a request from the customer.

10th Principle – Sensitive Information

NHP will not collect or hold information about a customer that can identify the customer’s racial ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual preferences, memberships of organisations, or political beliefs except where it is relevant, unless we have your consent or are required to do so by law or are allowed/required to do so according to the Privacy Act 1988 as amended.
