With our supply partner Moflash signalling we can offer an extensive range of visual and audible products that are made for industrial applications. With nearly 50 years of experience in this field we are confident that we can find the right product for your. If we don not have a standard product we will work together with you to find one.
Many people refer to these products with different names, such as Beacons, lights, and flashers. In the Moflash range we offer traditional products, such as rotating beacons (see below) and filament globe illumination, static and flashing, together with new technology such as LED (light emitting diodes beacons – see below)) and Xenon strobes (see below). Importantly what ever product is selected, careful consideration must be taken into account where the beacon is located and even more importantly who is going to see the beacon and from how far away.
The rotating light or beacon has been around for many years and is still one of the most popular beacon products. The rotating beacon works a lot like a lighthouse where a parabolic reflector, driven by an electric motor revolves a continuously illuminated filament globe on the vertical axis creating a powerful light output traveling through a 360 degree rotation. Rotating beacons are ideal for factory applications, as the light beam tends to ‘bounce off “structures and wall, thus very popular choice for machinery. The only real enemy of the rotating beacon is vibration and heat. Heavy vibration can often break the filament globes and if the beacon is not mounted correctly (correct mounting for any rotator is vertical) damage can occur to the motor.
Light emitting diode beacons “LED” are ideal for long life applications, which can achieve up to 100,000 hours in ideal environments. Depending on the product selected, our Moflash LED range is suitable for static (continuous light output) or flashing applications. LED beacons draw very little current, in most case under 500 mA, so they work well with PLC’s and environmentally conscious systems. All Moflash beacons are made from UV stable material.
Xenon beacons or “strobes” are the most powerful visual warning device in the market and are critical for areas of high safety concern. The MOX range starts from a low profile 1 joule strobe up to a very powerful 24 Joule warning strobe. The strobe itself operates by the use of a discharge capacitor through a converter circuit to ignite the Xenon gas inside a tube (located under the dome) to create a superior high intensity flash. Xenon strobes offer a low current consumption and an approximate 5 million flash life cycle.
The bells contained in this web site deliver a clear and loud ringing tone. We have three (3) sizes we can offer options, being 100mm, 150mm or 200mm diameters. The standard bell is rated to
IP54, so we recommend that this be installed inside or under eaves to provide weather protection. Alternately if the bell is to be used outdoors, we recommend that an IP65 bell back box be fitted. It only takes about two minutes to fit a back box and don’t forget to use a M20 IP65 cable gland.
The Hooter is an electric motor driven device, based on principal of driving a notched disc against a stud, which in turn operates a diaphragm. Hooters, such as the “Klaxet” (formally from Klaxon) emit a low frequency sound and are ideal for marine and time signalling applications. An important operational note is that motor driven hooters generate a lot of heat; therefore time restrictions are often applied, such 1 minute on and 5 minutes off. This allows the motor to cool down.
NHP carry a wide range of electromechanical and electronic buzzers that suit applications such as, fire, security alarms and process control. Moflash buzzers, such as the FL3S are ideal for machinery as they provide a 110dB output can be pole or panel mounted.
To compliment our beacons and strobes we have a range of customer fitted accessories. Cage guards are often required to protect against accidental damage and which is often the case vandalism! We also carry spare lamps (globes) for our filament beacon range, however Xenon globes are not available on most products.
