Electrical Apprenticeships at NHP

NHP takes a proactive stance when it comes to training young individuals with the skills they need to pursue a fulfilling career in the electrical industry. NHP's Electrical Apprenticeship scheme is an example of this, providing enthusiastic individuals with the opportunity to gain their Electrical Fitters qualification in a unique and exciting environment.

Based at NHP’s National Distribution and Manufacturing Centre in Laverton, Victoria, the apprentices spend the first three years of their tenure working in NHP’s Manufacturing workshop, gaining valuable experience and knowledge assembling industrial electrical equipment. In this time they are also exposed to NHP’s Marketing Department, assisting in the design and assembly of promotional display boards.

In the final year of the program, the apprentices may be rotated through the different departments of NHP, gaining business experience in diverse areas, such as supply chain, products, engineering, sales, estimating and marketing.

At the end of the four year program the apprentices not only earn their qualification as a Certificate 3 Electrotechnology Technician (from Victorian University / TAFE), but are equipped with the skills and experience to work within many of the different departments at NHP or within the wider electrical industry.

There are presently eight individuals undertaking electrical apprenticeships at NHP. The 2010 apprenticeship intake will be advertised on the careers area of this website in late 2009 - stay tuned.
