What is changing?

On November 7, 2008, Rockwell Automation announced that it has expanded its distribuution partnership with NHP, By appointing NHP as the sole distributor for Allen Bradley products within NHP's allocated geographic area.

Why is Rockwell Automation making this change?

Rockwell is the leading global provider of industrial automation solutions and switchgear components. Rockwell by partnering with NHP (who Is the market leader In Australia), will help customers across a wide range of industries to achieve a competitive adavantage in their business.

What benefits will I, the customer, see as a result of this change?

This partnership will offer customers an expanded product offering, providing a one-stop shop for all industrial switchgear and automation requirements.

With these leading companies working together with Rockwell Automation – the Australia and New Zealand markets will be served by the latest in technology from around the world, backed by the highest level of service and technical support local to customers.

Customers can expect:

  • A local branch partner equipped to solve problems and deliver results
  • Improved supply chain management and increased local inventory
  • Improved customer facing resources i.e. Technology “specialist”
  • Improved inside technical support resources
  • Improved geographic reach
  • Complementary products and value-add services

Can I buy Allen-Bradley products from NHP?

Yes. NHP is authorised to distribute Allen-Bradley products when it is ready to do so within its APR. NHP has commenced preparations. From now until the 1st of July 2009 the existing Allen-Bradley distributors may remain distributors of Allen-Bradley products in their territory. If you are located in New South Wales or South Queensland, Inaco is the authorised Allen-Bradley brand distributor in that area.

Is NHP continuing to support its existing product lines?

Yes. If you have an account with NHP you can buy any product that NHP sells anywhere in Australia and New Zealand. If you don’t have an account you can apply for one and if you meet our normal trade account criteria we will open an account for you.

If I am unsure whether my new distributor will be NHP or Inaco who can I ask?

You can contact NHP or Rockwell Automation who can advise who the authorised distributor will be in your area.

What will happen to the existing NHP staff and branches?

No change. It is business as usual. The NHP values and customer promise of ‘What you want, where, when and how you want it’ remains unchanged as does the NHP ways of doing business. This announcement simply means that from the 1st of July 2009, NHP will be the authorised Allen-Bradley distributor in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, ACT, Northern Queensland, Northern Territory and New Zealand. NHP will continue to provide the same levels of service and support from NHP on all of our products that our customers expect..

If I have purchased an Allen-Bradley product from an existing Distributor and want to return it for credit, can I return it to NHP?

No. Any return for credit of items purchased should always be handled by the supplier that you purchased from.

What is happening to the existing Allen-Bradley Distributors?

The existing distributors can remain Allen-Bradley distributors until 1st of July 2009 in their territories dependant on their Individual transition plans . They are independent businesses that often sell more than just the Allen-Bradley.  Any question regarding their business should be addressed to them.

What happens if my existing distributor stops selling me Allen-Bradley products?

If you are purchasing Rockwell Automation products and services from an authorised distributor you may continue to purchase from that distributor during the transition period. If your existing distributor has decided not to support Allen-Bradley products you have a choice to transition to the newly authorised distributor. As one of the new distributors, NHP Is transitioning its business to provide support to customers. If you are unsure who your alternative distributors are you may contact Rockwell or NHP who will be able to guide you.  

If I have a question on training, service, or product orders, who should I call?

For inquiries or quotations on Allen-Bradley products or services you can call your current distributor during the transition period. For existing orders, contact your local distributor with whom you placed the order.  As always, your Rockwell Automation offices are available for your questions or for help as well.
